www.jayarama.us/archives/dtcp090623.txt Diary of a Traveling Creature by Buck White (PIGGY) ANJANA SUTA ACADEMY www.JayaRama.US 2009 June 23 - August 5 ============================================ 2009 June 23 Miurfreesboro (TENNESSEE, USA) t u e s d a y 3:40PM R(16) G(2) Hare Krsna and Rama too! We are back in the American zoo. Gotta dress a certain way. Be careful what you say. Our natural home is Goloka town. There we live without fear or frown. Always laugh very sound. The world some times wants you to work. Everyone wants your contribution, but how much strength do you have? So, just do your little service at the center of the dell and let the world around you spin and choke or stand and swell. You've done your best, God does the rest. ============================================ 2009 June 28 Miurfreesboro (TENNESSEE, USA) s u n d a y 5:45AM R(12) G(0) Hare Krsna. AGTSP paoho. How are you? We have been busy everyday. We go for walks with Nitia-gaurasundara Das (NGD) and write our . We chant our rounds, have Mangala-arati, telephone, e-mail, read buks. and Monkey uses the HpSwami's body to do his hand-written Diarys. Well review the one in progess: * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Piggy's Monkey's DTC Review: 26 June to date (28 June 2009) 1. It's in a nice 6x9 inch Steno-Pad. Uncle Gismo seems to be favoring these. He buys them in packs of 12 for $1.25 ea. ... (Damn cheap) ... from Office Depot. Seems they can be foto-reduced for mass printing. (but are the masses ready for Monkey's DTC??) ~+~ THE APE-MAN STARTS BY dedicating it to Srila Prabhupada, Jayananda Prabhu and Shyama gopal Prabhu in whose ashrama we are staying. He says that Srila Prabhupada says that a Sannyasi should leave something in writing wherever he goes. So we are leaving this DTC. They're reading Antya-lila where it talks about Krsna's fragrant body. Even His hands smell nice! . . ;; . . . . .. . . : ..... | Ideas come. Ideas go. Under the sunshine of the Holy Names, Just let them grow! (Piggy: This is so important. Ideas must not cover constant Japa! Let the Holy Names mature any ideas. We'll just watch them grow, manifest, as words or dance, or agressive Russian hand-ball stance.) He also reads and comments on Canto 8.1. Wherein he finds in a Purport that Srila Prabhupada advertises like anything. HpSwami is writing our BG, ! Climbing ladders, Changng bulbs, Reading more, Japa floor, Evening programs at the devotee's ashramas.... (Monkey's Diary is interesting to read) He says: So many times while we are chanting Japa and try to intensify the chanting, our mind says, "Oh, don't do that. You will die!" but our intelligence then says, "O.K. Let us die chanting Hare Krsna this very breath! Or this very pair of Holy Names: ... Hare Krsna, Hare Rama, ... Krsna Krsna, Rama Rama ... Hare Hare." (It's a really good point. The most important point. Whether we die of shame, liver exhaustion, auto wreck, drowning, enemy attack, heat and light, if it is the result of going forward on the path of Bhakti, then we must do it. Akhanda Japa is our first service. Even these Diary's must stop if the Holy Names require.) Do not aspire for a long life. Aspire for a perfect life. Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna!! ~+~ He's on page thirty, about 1/2-finished. Parth-sarthi Prabhu was also here. Monkey also mentions that. He stayed over night with us in the Shyama-ashrama. At the Ganesa temple, Nashville Rathayatra, he distributed 4-BG. Indeed it is a miracle. Krsna has him so engaged. He says that at the end of everything, with his religious discharge, from the Army, the Head Chaplain of the US Army, three star general, was writing to him. He sent the Chaplain Prabhupda's books and now the Chaplain wants to buy 50,000 "BG As It Is'"! !! PIGGY'S POINT We give Monkey's, this DTC, 3 or 5 stars. A real must to read and pass to a friend. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ...Rama Rama, Hare Hare... ============================================ 2009 July 12 Miurfreesboro (TENNESSEE, USA) s u n d a y 4:03PM R(23) G(2) Hare Krsna, Dudes! AGTSP! paoho. Well! It's been like 19-daze since we last wrote! Ooof! Amazing! Monkey finished his Diary and started another. HpSwami has been working like an insane guy on his TPP Afterwords and now he's started the NIOS work. . The TPP is finished and published on the Web - first semester Bhakti-sastri study guide complete. So much talk with Students. NIOS is starting a project like the Bharatiya Sanskriti, titled, "Counselors, Codes and Kings" (CCK). Dr. Bandyopadhyay has ageed to lead the effort to publish a very authentic version of the "Parasara-dharma-sastra". Srila Prabhupada recomends it. It's an excellent Code for the Brahmanas to know to counsel the kings. Like Bharatiya Sanskriti it should go on for a few years. This year's NIOS prospectus is 99% finished. The event will be like 27th August through 6th September. ~+~ "Piggy's Monkey's Diary Review:" (PMDR) Page 31 - 28 June, Sunday - Unless we do some preaching we feel like parasites on the generosity of pious grhasthas! To that end we just put aside all the administration etc. and did a Power Point Show on the KRSNA book chapter, "Narada Muni visits the houses of Krsna"! Reading CC 3.20.13+ with Japa before Mangala arati! Then went to the Toyota dealership. Had to get the brake lights fixed. A policeman pulled us over and said he, "Two of your brake lights aren't working, get 'em fixed". So we did, $39.67. Damn cheap. Jasoda called from Miami and said that his busness is collapsing in Miami but he has an offer to take over the Temple Restaurant in Denver. We discussed the pros and cons, Rtadhvaja Swami came to Nitai-gaurasundara's house, so we left the Shyama Ashrama and moved to Nitai-gaurasundara's house. Eliminates some 40-minutes driving and several pints of gas daily. Pack-up! mayi bhaktir hi bhutanam, amrtatvaya kalpate, distya yad asin mat-sneho bhavatinam mad apanah (SB 10.82.44) This is the verse that Krsna spoke to the Gopis at Kuruksetra that settled Their fears that they would once again obtain Krsna. (We are learning it for the San Francisco Rathayatra). Wed-July 1st -- Thu-July 2nd You have to do Japa like a Yogi from Hell. You'll soon lose the body and your practice will tell. Where you are going in your very next life. Tucson, Texas or eternal life?! {Monkey draws many nice pictures, with simple lines. You could do the same, it's very fine). Just finishing CC. Will we actually meet Krsna Das Kaviraja some day, "Hello, Sir, I read you book and found it really greeat!" WORK As Srila Prabhupada runs in Vraja-dhama We must run ahead to see nothing's wrong. His steps must not srtike thorns or stones. But still they must send a thrill up through his bones. The lotus feet or Prabhupada, Are the essence our prayer to God. DTC - pg. 44 -- Bhakti yoga is the path of progressive rules and regulations. Do you do that??!! We were reading CC and chanting and writing before Mangala-arati, but we see it's better to minimize the reading until after Mangala-arati. Lights better then and we need to get more Japa done before. Also, need to get 20-rounds done before breakfast, not 19. Amazing, but it makes a big difference. You must do this. Improve, improve, improve your rules and regulations. Yours will be different than mine, but when they are perfect, service to Krsna will capture your mind. KILL YOUR DARLINGS: The author must be willing to erase many of his proudest words. Just like Arjuna had to kill his little nephews. Hare Krsna, Hare Rama! (Oh! Hara!...) We finish our Japa, put down our beads, then into the bathroom we take our gross stead, to bath him and brush him and make him do tricks, and then it's back to our bedroom for incense sticks. Don't think while you do this, just chant on your lips. And 54-mantras pile up in your chips! ~+~ Page 54 - "It is a great opulence to know what Krsna needs, likes!" Bring water, Bring wood! {"A DEVOTEE CAN WRITE POETRY OR ARTICLES FOR KRSNA", said Srila Prabhupada} {{Oh, goody. San Francisco Rathyatra is coming soon. We have not been for two or three years!}} San Francisco, New Jagannatha Puri, is our home. Page 62 Uncle Gismo's Knew: These 6x9 Steno Pads are as wide as a one dollar bill! And there are standard onvelopes that these pages could fill. And Henry James, the American book King, said that letters are the finest of all written things. (Even in Goloka they write little notes. Letters from Krsna to Radha the monkeys must tote) {[( Who would ever suspect a monkey of carrying secret messages)]} We want to go there and help! You too?! There's a body just for you! ~+~ PAGE SIXTY SEVEN: Seems that we don't fall directly from heaven. First we come down to Maha-visnu's abode, And then material attraction shows us a rode. Page 70 O.K. That's then. End. Monkey don't expect the Nobel Prize for the wiggles of his pen. But he can pack up this note book. Make a few copies and send it off to Shyama Gopal and all of our frins! They can say critiques. And give us a boot, and maybe one day, just one day, with Krsna (and 2,000 other cowherd boys) we'll toot! >+>+>+>+>+>+>+> Jaya! Piggy here again. Ooof. We read the Journal. It's O.K. Should go out. But should also get better. 5:12PM - Time for little prasadam and then TPP Isopanishad class. Outside it's dark with thunder storms, but you can sit on the veranda because it's still quite warm. Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna. Today is the best day to die!!! ============================================ 2009 July 21 Franklin (TENNESSEE, USA) t u e s d a y 4:33 - R(12) G(0) Hare Krsna! Hare Rama! AGTSP paoho ... Here we are in Tandavika Prabhu, Mataji, Mosa, Kosa, Gaura-Nitai, Govardhana-sila, Radha-Govinda's ashrama in Franklin, Tennessee. It's just 40-minutes from Nitai-gaurasundar Prabhu and family's ashrama. How are you?! Monkey just finished his hand-written (paw written) DTC. We will edit it today! We told him to take a break. He could start writing again tommorrow or the next day. + + + Who are we? We are servants of Srila Prabhupda, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, ISKCON samstapaka-acharya. We are trying to help Lord Caitanya in His mission of giving the science of Krsna consciousness to all the fallen souls of this age of Kali. This by the mercy of Rupa-siksa. We need a Priority List for today (tommorrow). But now let's go for Mangala-arati with Tandavika Das!!!... !!!(4:42AM{LIttle latE?!}) ...but still pretty good. Gotta become perfect! ============================================ 2009 July 22 Franklin (TENNESSEE, USA) w e d n e s d a y 1:54 R(-5) Good morning! Hare Krsna! ... We are falling down little bit in our evening program! But so tired. Continuous work. But getting our rounds done, Mangala-arati! Adelante> Forward> ! 2:18 - R(0) Our rounds seemed to fly by?! But they seemed clear also? But there are so many things to do! Is this the mode of passion from our evening program getting weak? Not properly fulfilling our evening dutys? We have this desire to always be engaged in Krsna's service, because it is . That is like Karma-misra-bhakti-yoga. Kind of like Arjuna's situation: Do what you can do for Krsna. Then by that association you will get supper fixed in pure, lucid goodness. Then you will know Krsna perfectly. Then you will really be motivated to do service because you can see that it is pleasing Krsna, not that it is pleasing you - from 'brahman' to 'bhagavan'. 2:33 - www.sdgonline.org, Diary 21 July. Maharaja's writings are so helpful. Is he an advanced Madhyama-adhikari? Are we dogs running behind him? 'Vidya-vadu-jivanam': Chant Hare Krsna and you will know! 2:58 - R(5) ... We can't know too much. In passion we want to organize all the work of Sankirtan: Print this, mail that, call him, write that, but it is not possible. First thing, 'buddhi' before 'manas', is to have the right attitude. That's 'buddhi', the sub-conscoius, for most of us. 2:00 - 10:00 is the time to work on our 'buddhi', attitude. You can change it. Fix it more in intense desire to carry out our misstion: Find Hara! Giver Her the 'Upadesamrta'! Take Her full-set order back to the BBT. We have to surrender our passions to Krsna. Just chant ĦHare Krsna! and see what work plan Krsna puts in our mind, what things need to be done. 3:18 - www.sdg... Diary: 20 July. Maharaja is 9-years ahead of us. I lost one tooth. He lost them all. Mine are little loose. He is becoming lucid in his Maya: This is my Maya. It is not gross, so I can bring it out in public and we can all work on it together. We only show our grossly situated diseases to the qualified doctor? I want to catch-up on back-issues of his Diary's but it is not possible. Be satisfied having some of his association. We are all perfectly associated when we chant: Hare Krsna Hare Krsna... Hare Raama Hare Raama.... One more round (3:24 now) and bath-tilak-puja. !!!! .v. .O. .-. (A Smile & An ĦOink! to U)... 4:08 - Now our body is fresh with bath, tilaka, and puja for Hanuman. Also, dhoti, uttariya, clothes washed and hanging to dry. Bathing seems more massage than skin scrubs. The water should be cold enough to penetrate and cool the fat and muscles. Then the blood goes back into the marrow and brains and liver and spleeeeen. Chant two rounds and read CC and Mangala-arati. (It's a Big Deal!)... . . . 5:12 - R(8), CC>2.250, Mangala-arati, Day's Plans (w/ Tandavika Das). As usual, while we were reading Srila Prabhupada's books, we learned that we were mistaken about something. We have been teaching that the Manus are Manvantaras, Manu-avataras. Well maybe in some way they are, but Lord Caitanya told Sanatana Goswami the names of the avataras, such as Yajna, who during the reign of each Manu. HK HK KK ... ... Now seems we should start the 'Kapi Dhvaja'. Later we can get to the packing... 6:30 - We went on-line and answered some important NIOS mail etc. Then started the 'Kapi-Dhvaja'. Got Wandering Miscreants, ABC, Calendar done. Now we just need to finish Letters to the Editator and Branch Reports. Got a head-ache. Gotta chant Gayatri. Take some juice. Do a little bodily work until the Abhiseka at 7:00. Then 7:30 - 8:30 we can finish the KD and finish packing.... 12:34 R(13) G(2) Right rigid sit-down straight sum place in the airport. Packing was intense. Tandavika's photo-copier took 20-seconds for each copy. 1/3 of the copys were OBscurE. Running around. Sorting files. What is to go? What is trash? What to file? ĦHare Krsna, Hare Rama! These are your files, we just come along. Tried to take Prasadam little calmly. (Was pretty nice South Indian Subji and Puris with Yogurt.) Back in the car, into the airport, through security, sit and chant Japa (nodding out of course), trying to avoid the sound polution. I mean, the T.V. monitors are hanging all over the place with a woman with a harsh, harsh, voice blasting out nasty facts about the universe: Michael Jackson's doctor's house is being raided. Airplane falls into the Arabian ocean. Man bites dog (small dog). P.A. system harranges late passengers to come to their planes. Many people floating around with nothing to do. All look like they are dead people, dressed in unintelligent fashions. No goal and no direction, simply annimated clay. Plastic chairs, dead vistas. (We were trying to get some life from watching a giant back-hoe loading bbroken runway pieces into dump-trucks.) Ai ai ai ai ai ai ai ! (And Haw! Haw! Haw! Add in a few SCREAMING babys) And you got good case for "Chant Hare Krsna and be happy". ... 12:51 - R(13) 14:10 - R(19) ... Well, it worked. (Chant Hare Krsna and be happy.) As we chanted we realized that a lot of the 'ugliness' that we saw around us was just a projection of the ugliness in our own heart. Chanting Hare Krsna gets that out! ! ! SEE THE WORLD ANEW What do you expect my Amigo, From the water and the wind? Do you think that still matter, Will ever be your friend? Krsna can put us into pure goodness, In the blinking of an eye. But the only requirement is, That you abandon your selfish like pig-stye. Must seem from BG 2.40, That motivelessness is also a crime. We must be thinking of doing good for others, Whether it's day, night or autumn, In the misty evening time. What is the best service we can render? To awake an interest intense, In the handsome young son of Yasoda, Who lives other side of the fence! 14:48 ... Steward is putting p-nuts on our plate. Must be time for our lunch pale process, to make an offer to the Lord so great. ... 'nama om visnu padaya...' ... 15:30 - Goof! 42-minutes for feeds! But time well spent, to Hanuman we sent! A bowl of nuts and dates. And the Steward he gave us a can of juice to set beside His plate. The Master fed, at his sted, We sup' on the romantic remains. Now we have strength and clarity, To write more of Jins and Jains. + + + INGLISH LITERATURE We know two gents who write poetry. There names are Rickel and Roe. And though they apreciate Dame Agatha, To Poe they never go. Dame Agatha speaks of London, Just after the German War. She let's us see all the humans, To the ceiling from the floor. So we can understand that Lord Krishna, Is the proper friend of all. Even to the villian his is wonderful, He is the greatest downfall. All times, all places, All nations all races. + + + A LITERARY REVIEW Now we shall write of the Diary, Of Tom of the 'Anjana Zoo'. An Academy of weirdos, Who know just what to do: DIARY OF A TRAVELING CREATURE 9 July -- 21 July -- -- 2009 -- by Tom Brown (MONKEY) A n j a n a S u t a A c a d e m y www.jayarama.us + + + {Oh! My God! It's writtin in Spanish} It starts off kind of normal, then he does this weird thing of writing one line after another on everypae of the book. Interesting. Now that the Diary is done, reading them take you quick through the book for an overlook, and then back to page 4. Page 5 - "Henry James was ... one of the greatest & most influential writers of American and English literature ... James especially admired carefully written letters and considered them to be one of the highest forms of literature." Great Books of the Western World, 1994, Volume 59 ~The Koran is untranslatable. In in its original Arabic it is rhetorical, ryhthmical, powerful, emotive, glittering, splendid.~ , Arthur J. Arberry, 1974, Macmillan, page 24. pg. 9-12 - He realizes that there is letter wriiting in Goloka. Indulekha has a mean clean pen. Letters pass between Radha and Krsna, and Lalita and Visaka, and I mean fast! He then wants to go there and write useful letters. In Goloka the bees don't have stingers. They only accumalte miel (honey). Page 13 - 11th Saturday. He went to the Murari farm with Tandavika. It was the Candan-yatra. The Lord was covered with paste, made from the Sandolwood tree. It smelled quite exotic, and is cooling, from the summer heat to set the good Lord free. They took the small 'utsava-murtis' to a pond under green shady trees. There were lamps and sweet Gadi music, and they bathed them in different waters from the depths of the seven seas. Then HpS gave classes that talked of our gifts from above. That Lord Caitanya and Nitai only accept service when it is prasad from the Vrijabasi's love. So, Gaura-Ntai's bodily remnants once decorated Nandanandana's frame? page 16 - They lament having eaten too many ccookkies that they saved from the feast at Murari after the Candan-yatra. Yet they also relent and congratulate themselves that they didn't eat the cookies the night before at Murari, and thus overslept in the morning. >>Page 18 - The author comments that they are readiing Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya 20, Instructions to Sanatana Goswami. Don't desire anything more. They started on the disappearance doy of SG. M. Brown laments that upon reading in Text 122 that we must give up fruitive activities for sense gratification and desire for mystical powers that he is contaminated with both of these. He reads mundane fiction in bed before sleep, he likes to show mysticism in his poems "so deep". He comments that he reads before bed cause it relaxes his head, and he says that better be dead. Push hard for more work. Give your mid a firm jerk, and open the pages of the KRSNA book song. Our goal is to dye following the practice of 'sadhana'. We must change the color of our life breathing. Dye it a different color. (Heh! Heh! Get it, "dye, die"?) Page 21 ĦRead the <> book! Page 22 - Plan your work. Work your plan. Page 29 - The author sees that their Japa-mala, beads are peacfully set to rest upon their NOI and then reads the KRSNA book. +++ 20:48 - R(25) G(3) ... Some confusion over our transportation from the airport, but got here O.K. Very wonderful accomodations from Lord Jagannatha, devotees, Grantha-raja Das et al. We led Gaura-arati kirtana and gave a class, Jayananda at Rathayatra. Started with one person finished with 25, then there was Prasadam. O.K. Let's read the KRSNA book (!) and take rest. Pretty good day. We fall at the feet of Lord Krsna, who is the master of all world's affairs. We pray that all's is well with the preaching and folks get a chance to take the book KRSNA and experience ecstatic emotion an joy! ============================================ 2009 July 24 New Jagannatha Puri, (Berkeley, California) f r i d a y 2:02 R(0) All glories to Srila Prabhupada, Good Morning. Please accept our humble obeisances and best wishes. Here we are sitting on our bed in the Temple office in New Jagannatha Puri. This is where we started everything 35 years ago. So many memorys here. Went on Hari-nama yesterday and distributed two small books and did two hours of Kirtana with Damodara and Raghunatha Das. Stopped at Krsna Copy on return to Temple and they were very happy to see us. Had exhuberent conversation about Krsna consciousness and the gave us a 40% discount on copying the Hamlet booklet, 3˘ rather than 5˘ per copy. In Tennessee it was 9-10˘ a page! Back to the Temple. Make 4 foot long garlands for Rathyaatra carts with 25 other devotees guests. Old friends arriving for the festival. News of whose dead, who has liver cancer, who is ecstatic. G a u r a - a r a t i and class (on Lord Caitanya at Rathyatra [with about 100 devotee])! Serve Prasdam take rest. Didn't read the KRSNA book! Read a technical book instead?!! Jaya! 2:15AM - Grantharaja justed passed through getting something and told me the local humour, who had sued whom in the petty claims court, who was fighting with who over who would be Pujari on Jagannatha's cart. Haw! Haw! Haw! 'prit-laksanam'. After some time you kind of accept it as general Iskcon madness, and Rasa. 2:18AM - R(0) H a r e ! !! ! ooooO Ooooo - - - - Srila Prabhupada has ten toes. This the whole world knows. Does he step on pebbles as he in Vrndavan goes? 2:40 - R(4) ... He was in the Temple when I joined. Now he lives in Los Angeles. When he explains things you can see that he is talking from actual experience. Caitanya-caritamrta Das showed up on the way to the festival site with a tub of his famous oatmeal cookie Prasadam. At 2PM (14:00) we go on Hari-nama Sankirtan. No Internet! Back to citicizing Monkey's Diarys: Page 30 Krsna's form is the origen of all. Just by looking at His form we will learn all the rules of grammar, geometry. pg 31 [ ] "Your Not Tired. You're Thirsty" Look for this book on the internet. It's a fact. Drink a big glass of water after you wake up and you can feel it coursing in your veins, waking you up. But now we continue with Journels, and in Maya it keeps us fixed! pg. 57A What do you want of your disciples? That, unless they have specific Sankirtan service in this world, they push to die a quick death. Cancer, auto-accident, starvation, these are all great. Go to Goloka quickly, they are waiting for you! pg. 58 After Mangala-arati we read NOD - the qualities of Krsna. Number 31 is Heroic. While fighting with Jarasandha, not even one of Krsna's soldiers was hurt. This is like saying not one of Srila Prabhupada's Sankirtaners was hurt while preaching. It was because of Krsna's expert training! Pg. 60 What do you want (to offer Hanuman) for breakfast? 2-bananas, 2-rounded tablespoons of p-nut butter, raw oats, raisins and milk. Zo o o o mmmm! Put it in the blender! Nama om visnu padaya... pg. 68 Fin del Cuerpo (End of the Body), DTC. + + + Basically is O.K. but need more work to make them, the Diarys, perfect. ============================================ 2009 July 25 New Jagannatha Puri (Berkeley, California) s a t u r d a y 5:52AM R(16) G(1) Hare Krsna! Jaya Jaganntha! ... Jagannatha Rathayatra Ki Jai! ... Yesterday we left for Hari-nama Sankirtana in Haight Ashbury at 2PM and got back at 8:30PM! Ooof! Hard Work. On the way there we saw wonderful aspects of San Francisco. Srila Prabhupada said that San Francisco was a spiritual city because it was named after a great saint. After we crossed the Bay Bridge, Cakradhari Prabhu took 101 South in-stead of 100 North and so we had to exit and cross San Francisco by the suface streets. It was wonderful. We went right past the old Temple at 455 Valencia Street. We saw many places filled with Krsna Conscious memorys. Then Hari-nama Sankirtana for hours with gusts of foggy wind. It's like a circus there. All kinds of exotic restaurants and clubs like the "Cha Cha Cha". Also, drug parafernalia, 'Tibeti' incense shops and and Green Ecoloby World places. Many dogs. About 12 devotees, Banabatta Prabhu. We led for some time. Was intense. So many, many suitable candidates for devotional service there. Passed out about 600 invitations to Rathayatra. One intoxicated guy took a flyer and then started walking with the Kirtana. Then the police camr and handcuffed him and walked him off ot their police car. Later Cakradhari told me that he had told him that he had just killed a blackman! Next time you should be there. + + + So got back to the Temple at 8:15 PM and it was a tubulent sea of devotional service! Starving, Prasadam. Off humble reception to Dayanidhi, Ben and Nikki from San Deigo and try take rest with the Rathyatra tornado spinning all around us. Now it is 6:08AM. At 6:30 Sura Prabhu will give class. We will take some rest, and at 8:30 Lord Jagannatha joins his limousine and we follow Him to the park. You will join us? We will have Hamlet's to pass out, wear warm clothes, give the arrival address, talk with 200 people, give out our NIOS cards. Cellular phone. ============================================ 2009 July 28 San Jose, California t u e s d a y 2:46AM R(5) Hare Krsna! The Festival was <>. Sun was little strong, but mostly there were clouds coming and going. It was a river of devotees. Some we have known for 35-years but haven't seen for the last two years. A lot can happen in two years. Hansadutta Prabhu was there. We only had a moment to talk and he seemed to be busy also with so many people. Vaisesika's book table. We gave an arrival address. Looked like many nice dancers and bands, but we hardly noticed, we were circumabulating the Festival field. We led Kirtan for some time during the Parade. Was big challenge. Our garlands were all on Subhadra's cart. + + + Met Srivasa and then came back to his home with Dayanidhi and Bhaktas Benjamin and Nikki. He gave us wrong direccions so the cell phones helped greatly. Everything was little confused. They were tired. They had come from Chicago the same morning. We took a little more charge than we normally do: Everyone bathe, clothes in the washer, Kirtan, class, (internet), hot tea and milk, take rest.. ... ... aaah! Sunday morning with them, recovering, talking, Tava Pache Pache, Bhakti-sastri work... Fremont to San Jose, Temple, Sunday Feast, guests looked tired but happy also. 30-Vaisnava youth arrived in a bus, feast, room rest! Monday, got up 45-minutes late, Mangala-arati (only two of the Vaisnava Youth {???}). Big class, big breakfast, good-bye to the Youth! Nap, shave, work well planned, 45-minutes talk with Vais, Tandavika etc. Temple has internet but no Word?! (Bemused Smile). Evening Kirtan with three guests, KRSNA book, Shyana arati and Kirtana, Gaurangi chews on some little iron discs and appears to swallow one, Sacimata rushes her to the emergency room. Caitanya follows, 10:45PM they come back, "False alarm" (RELIEF!) She didn't swallow anything. Ate come cake and played one computer game called Spider Solitair while chanting. Hmmm! Maya?! It like relaxed the mind. Hmmmm?! Japa is better! It would have been your last chance to die! + + + FUNDAMENTALLY Try to die. Die to fly. Die today. Name's the way. Krsna is waiting for you. (With great anxiety) Make a sincere effort to commit suicide (by chanting the Hare Krsna Mantra) Today! This next Ksana (3-seconds)! Hamsadutta: You know Prabhupada asked me, "Why do you think I am writing so many books?" I said, "So we can read them and become purified and go back to Godhead". He said, "No, so that you will become convinced to chant Hare Krsna". Once you you do that you actually don't need to read so much. Vais was irritated that that comment was out of context and might confuse new devotees. I think that he thinks of the mass of humanity a lot more than me. That's why he is my BIG brother. 3:13AM - R(-4) ... 3:38AM - R(0) ... Let's go to the Temple! Bath, Laundry, Puja, Arati, Japa, Telephone, Japa, Read, Arati, Kirtana, Class, Prasadam ... Back to our room!... 9:46AM - R(16) G(1) Mangala-arati, Japa, call to Tandavika about international calling, call to Anuttama Prabhu about NIOS (before 6AM it's free), three guests, M. Hansapriya made P-nut pasta, M. Sacimata had Lassi, banana, fruits and granola. That's the basic breakfast: Granola, bananas, raisins and whole milk Yogurt for Hanuman Sahaab. We also had Bhagavatam class. Now all I am attracted to is Caitanya-caritamrta and KRSNA book?! !!? I think it is because Cc is more modern and so we can relate to it as more practical. We are engineers not physicists, and KRSNA book is more Lila which conveys knowledge in a very condensed fashion, and whatever we read, we want to read over and over again. We feel pretty good about our Sankirtana, keeping up with our workload. It's actually offensive to take more service than you can do (NOD). So, now we rest a little, and then look at our calendars and priority lists. We are trying to make 5-phone calls each morning during the free-time. One's desires and ambitions develop from the company he keeps. ============================================ 2009 July 30 T h u r s d ay 2:00AM - R(-4) So much to do. We work pretty damn steady, but still can't finnish everything. Krsna Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Krsna He! Japa! ============================================ 2009 August 3 San Jose (CALIFORNIA, USA) m o o n d a y 6:31AM R(17) G(1) We usually read the KRSNA book about 800 times and hour, but sometimes we have to slow down to 600 times/hour? Bulten: Do you eat dog food? Piggu: What is dog food? Bulten: Fruit, nutz, halavah. Piggy: No, certainly, not! We eat only Prasadam. Bulten: What does this book have to say: Piggy: We understand that with the breathing of the Supreme Personality of Godhead there issued forth the four Vedas, namely the Rig Veda, the Sama Veda. the Atharva Veda and the Yajur Veda, and the histories like the Maha-bharata and all the Puranas, which are also considered to be the history of the world. The Vedic historys like the Maha-bharata and the Puranas are considered to be the fifth Veda. Bulten: A lot to read. Piggy: But you don't have to read them you can hear them! You can read them with your mind! ======================================= 2009 August 5 W e d n e s d a y San Jose, (CALIFORNIA) 1:24PM - R(13) G(2) .End of the Journal. We sit in our room in the Temple in San Jose. We have little fever from a little baby. We had Mahaprasadam from Lord Balarama. We are 2/3 of the way through our visit to San Francisco. When we arrived we went straight into the Rathyatra maelstrom: Daily Hari-nam, 5,000 flyers, printing, making 108 feet of flower garlands. meeting old friends, meeting our oldest friends, Radha Gokulananda. The festival itself was prodigious. Led Kirtan, sunburn, beautiful weather, talked on stage, went back to Srivasa Pandita's house that night with Dayanidhi and Nikki and Benjamin from San Diego. Since then we have had Temple programs and home progams almost every night. So many serious questions. The TPP work goes on with Srivasa Thakura and a lot of lot of work trying to organize things for HpS, Ananta-rupa/Gopal, Hrdayananda Maharaja in Peru. Ooof! So this is the end. Monkey has another hand-written Diary in the works. This one is dedicated to HpS which is difficult because he often thinks that he is HpS. (Or does HpS think that he is Monkey?)
